COVID-19 SAFETY PROTOCOL

 COVID 19

As the Covid 19 epidemic continues to ravage the US and disproportionately affect Black and Brown folks, we thought it was important to let you know the steps we take in order to insure the safety of both our team and community:

CONTACT TRACING

All visitors to our space must sign in and out and leave detailed information that can be used to contact them in case of possible exposure

MASKS

Anyone who comes into the space is required to be wearing a mask/face covering.

SANITATION

All visitors are required to sanitize their hands upon entering. If folks are experiencing fever, sniffles, cough, or any symptoms, we ask them not to come into our workspace.

DISTANCE

We require everyone to respect boundaries and personal safety space by remaining at least 6 feet away from those around you.

VENTILATION

We make sure our space is well-ventilated by not only keeping all doors open during business hours but also by running our fan vent system.

AREA SANITATION

At the end of our day, we sanitize all common-use spaces, including handles and tabletops.

NO CONTACT DELIVERY

When drivers drop CSA shares to community members, they are masked, and packages are left in a spot designated by that family or community member to receive at their convenience and free of interaction.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

We provide PPE packs to members of the community as an addition to their weekly CSA Shares. To date, we have gotten out over 7k units of PPE.

PLANT JAM

As we continue to move forward with our monthly Plant Jam ( Free plants to members of the BIPOC Community ), we are continuing to experiment with the safest ways to continue this programming. In December, we had a shop through the window and handed plants out the door. In February, we are doing a plant and care package delivery initiative to encourage social distancing and quarantining. As we progress through the pandemic, we will continue adapting this program.

QUARANTEAMS

As an added precaution, we keep our teams familiar, meaning we have the same small circle working at a reasonable distance within our space to lessen our outside exposure and keep everyone safe. Quaranteams are cross-trained to prevent any potential lags in service.

QUARANTINE AND TESTING

EGC is practicing all of the CDC recommendations for quarantining and testing if individuals are exposed or suspected to be exposed to covid.  The safety of our team and community is a priority.

By doing all these things, we can continue our mission of bringing food security and health to those that need it most.
